Burningword Literary Journal (ISSN 2161-8992 for print and ISSN 2157-7366 for online) is a quarterly publication that was founded in June 2000. It is committed to discovering and highlighting the most captivating new voices in literature, featuring a diverse array of poetry, short fiction, nonfiction, and visual art.
Accepted works: Poetry in any form or style, flash fiction, flash nonfiction, photography, and digital art. Issues are published on January 5, April 5, July 5, and October 5. The submission cut-off date is each quarter’s 10th day of the prior month. (https://burningword.submittable.com).
This journal uses anonymous review, meaning the reviewer and author’s identities are concealed throughout the review process. In addition to the regular issues, end-of-year award nominations culminate in an annual “best-of” issue and nominations to both the Pushcart and Best of Net awards.
